Jason Taylor wants to play for the Dolphins in 2010, a source tells the Miami Herald.
Taylor is having a big year at age 35. He's played in all eight games as an every-down linebacker, recording 5.5 sacks, 23 tackles, and two forced fumbles. Taylor, in a contract year, has had no conversations with the team about a new deal. Expect the two sides to reach an agreement shortly after the season.

With Matt Roth out until Week 7, Jason Taylor is expected to be an every-down linebacker in the 3-4.
Taylor was signed to be a pass-rush specialist, but that plan is out the window. He's had a monster camp and said he feels healthy. We'll see if he can stay that way at age 35.

 Matt Roth-LB - Dolphins Sep. 5 - 12:04 pm et

Dolphins placed OLB Matt Roth on the reserve/non football-injury list.
Roth won't be eligible to return to game action until Week 7. Jason Taylor will have a much bigger role than the Dolphins expected when they signed him.

Aside from LT Jake Long, Jason Taylor is currently "the most dominant player on the practice field" at Dolphins camp, according to beat writer Omar Kelly.
Apparently, he isn't done. Matt Roth might not have a starting job when his groin heals. Taylor, 35, still isn't a great bet to be an every-down player or hold up for 16 games, but he should give Miami a lift as a situational rusher.

 Matt Roth-LB - Dolphins Aug. 8 - 2:23 pm et

Matt Roth's (groin) hopes of keeping his starting outside linebacker job "appear to be gone."
We'll see. It's early yet, but Jason Taylor has been impressive with Roth sidelined by illness and a groin injury. Roth returned to linebacker drills Saturday, but he still not ready for full practice.

 Matt Roth-LB - Dolphins Aug. 3 - 8:59 am et

Dolphins OLB Matt Roth (groin) opened training camp on the active/PUP list.
Roth underwent surgery on the groin in March, but he's been struggling with it for much of the offseason. It's not a good sign that the groin kept him from completing the team's conditioning tests. Jason Taylor is in line for more playing time if Roth's groin injury becomes chronic.
