Bears LT Orlando Pace (concussion) is expected to be ready to play in Week 11 against the Eagles.
Pace was concussed in Thursday night's ugly loss and was replaced by Kevin Shaffer. The Pace-to-Shaffer transition wouldn't be a big dropoff, as Pace has been a major disappointment for the Bears this season.

Bears LT Orlando Pace left Thursday's game with what is believed to be a concussion.
The injury was first reported as Pace getting the wind knocked out of him, but it could be more serious. Pace has been a disappointment as a run-blocker this season, and his pass protection hasn't exactly been stellar, either.

In the latest issue of the Sporting News, Bears LT Orlando Pace said he understood and has no hard feelings toward the Rams about being released.
The Bears probably wouldn't mind if Pace played with a chip on his shoulder, but his health is obviously the key. If he stays on the field, it can only help Jay Cutler and Matt Forte.

Orlando Pace's three-year, $15 million contract is essentially a two-year, $10 million commitment.
Pace only received a $1 million signing bonus. He'll get $6 million in the first year and only costs $4 million in 2010. The third year is worth $5M, but contains no guaranteed money. Pace will turn 36 that season. The deal will be a steal for Chicago if Pace can stay healthy the next two years.

Bears agreed to terms with LT Orlando Pace on a three-year, $15 million contract.
A busy day at Bears headquarters, as they now have protection for their new franchise QB. Pace, who can earn $11 million in the first two years of the deal, is slated to start at left tackle. Chris Williams will move to the right side with newly signed Kevin Shaffer acting as injury insurance on a much-improved line. Pace is 33, but proved he still has plenty in the tank by allowing just two sacks last season. Only Denver's Ryan Clady (0.5) and Tennessee's Michael Roos (1.0) gave up fewer.

Ravens GM Ozzie Newsome wouldn't rule out Baltimore signing free agent Orlando Pace at Wednesday's pre-draft news conference.
Baltimore proposed a contract at Pace's visit two weeks ago, but Chicago may be offering more money and can keep Pace at left tackle. It's the only position he's played in his career. The Ravens' need is on the right side.
