Broncos owner Pat Bowlen said he would like Brandon Marshall to remain with the team.
"And there's still a good possibility that could happen," Bowlen said. The owner said that he thinks Marshall matured this season, but added that he would not veto any trade that coach Josh McDaniels thinks benefits the team. The trading period opens on March 5 and we'll see how much teams are willing to give for someone with questionable character.

 Brandon Marshall-WR - Broncos Feb. 5 - 9:20 am et

CBS analyst Shannon Sharpe insists he's knows "personally there are three teams out there who are going to make a move for Brandon Marshall."
There's no question that several receiver-needy teams will be intrigued by Marshall despite his baggage. But will they be willing to give up a first-round pick (or more) while also committing to an expensive long-term deal for a major character risk?

 Brandon Marshall-WR - Broncos Feb. 4 - 1:59 pm et

An apparently contrite Brandon Marshall said Thursday that he's open to playing for the Broncos next season.
"Last year I handled things totally wrong," admitted Marshall. "I just looked at the business side of things and took things too personally." Marshall is attempting to repair his image, but the Broncos would clearly prefer to trade him this offseason. Perhaps Marshall's agent has finally made it clear that his best way to get a contract extension is to play the role of the good soldier.

Beat writer Matt Maiocco expects the 49ers to have "absolutely" no interest in trading for Brandon Marshall.
This isn't surprising. The Niners spent a first-round pick on Michael Crabtree last season, so they're not ready to give up another high pick for a wide receiver. Throw in Marshall's major character concerns, and he makes for a risky long-term investment.

Beat writer Mike Preston believes it will be a "surprising" if the Ravens make a play for Brandon Marshall this offseason.
We tend to agree. Owner Steve Bisciotti is willing to take a risk on "first-time offenders," but he's much more leery of repeat offenders. Marshall has had problems with coaches Mike Shanahan and Josh McDaniels the past two years, both of them growing tired of his antics on and off the field. He's simply too big of a character risk for the likely first-round (or more) asking price.

 Anquan Boldin-WR - Cardinals Feb. 3 - 3:30 pm et

Acknowledging that wide receiver is a priority this offseason, Ravens GM Ozzie Newsome indicated that he's "open" to trading players or draft picks to acquire an upgrade.
The Ravens need a big, physical receiver to push Derrick Mason into the No. 2 role. Anquan Boldin and Brandon Marshall both fit the description, though coaches' nightmare Marshall comes with a sizable character risk. The injury-prone Boldin would come at a lower cost in players and/or draft picks.
