Ex-Falcons RB Warrick Dunn is buying into the franchise's ownership as a minority partner.
Dunn's ownership share was unanimously approved by the NFL and will be completed before March 1. Dunn has been a rumored pickup by several teams this season (often with the Eagles), but his ownership in the Falcons seals his retirement. In his 12-year career Dunn became just the seventh player to record 10,000 yards rushing and 4,000 yards receiving.

 Warrick Dunn-RB - Buccaneers Aug. 20 - 3:06 pm et

The player rep for Warrick Dunn recently admitted that the Eagles' interest in his client was prior to training camp.
Since camp started, the Eagles have found out that Brian Westbrook's return is on schedule and LeSean McCoy is ready to contribute right away. They also like Eldra Buckley, grabbed off waivers from the Chargers. The Warrick Dunn ship has sailed.

NFL.com's Steve Wyche reports that the Seahawks and Eagles have "reached out" to free agent Warrick Dunn.
Both teams would make sense for the 34-year-old, who's played almost his entire career in a West Coast offense. Dunn's best shot at carries would be in Seattle. He'd be third string in Philly, bumping Lorenzo Booker off the roster. However, Wyche says the talks "have been nothing more than exploratory."

According to the USA Today, Eagles coach Andy Reid "won't rule out" adding a veteran like free agent RB Warrick Dunn.
Dunn was released by the Bucs in February. The Eagles would likely only pursue Dunn if Brian Westbrook's ankle is worse than they are letting on. They're happy with rookie LeSean McCoy and he'll most likely be Westbrook's handcuff.

 Warrick Dunn-RB - Buccaneers Feb. 25 - 1:02 pm et

Buccaneers released RB Warrick Dunn, LB Derrick Brooks, WR Joey Galloway, WR Ike Hilliard, and LB Cato June.
New GM Mark Dominik is not messing around. The moves clear $12.45 million in cap room, bringing Tampa's net salary cap space to roughly $60M. The names will be startling for Bucs fans, but June is the only surprise. Dunn, Brooks, and Galloway's salaries exceeded their production at this stage of their careers. Dunn looked reborn last season (1,116 total yards), and his great character should help get him interest on the market as a third-down back.

 Earnest Graham-RB - Buccaneers Feb. 19 - 11:19 pm et

New Bucs offensive coordinator Jeff Jagodzinski praised RB Earnest Graham in his first meeting with local media early this week.
Speaking of Graham as a power runner, the zone-blocking coach said: "[Earnest] can do it. He's shown he can do it ... when he runs the ball he's always going downhill and gaining yards. You rarely see him get knocked back. He's always going forward ... He's versatile. I'm excited about him." Graham's stock is looking up for 2009.
