The Bucs want to see better accuracy and leadership skills from Josh Freeman in 2010.
"We want him to complete 65 percent of his passes. He needs to be the first guy in the building. It’s the leadership aspect we need from him. He needs to be more vocal with teammates in and out of the huddle," new QBs coach Alex Van Pelt said. Two weeks ago, the Bucs wanted a 60 percent completion rate, but now Van Pelt wants more. Freeman will need more weapons on offense after completing just 54.6% of his passes as a rookie.

 Josh Freeman-QB - Buccaneers Jan. 25 - 10:02 pm et

Bucs offensive coordinator Greg Olson has set a goal for Josh Freeman to complete 60% of his passes in 2010.
Freeman completed just 54.6% as a rookie. "He can work on making a lot of the throws," Olson said. "Deep balls throws and accuracy. Fundamentals. If you look at all the studies of playoff quarterbacks and winning quarterbacks, that's where it's at...60 percent." Freeman would also benefit from Tampa upgrading his receiver corps. No. 1 wideout Antonio Bryant is a free agent.

Coach Raheem Morris said in his season-ending press conference that the Bucs' No. 1 offseason priority will be Josh Freeman's development.
"It starts with him," Morris said. "Then after that the draft and building around him. You have to say that No. 5 is the biggest priority, making sure everything works around him." Freeman went 3-6 as a starter, but flashed dominant ability. The Bucs need to get him better weapons at wide receiver.

 Josh Freeman-QB - Buccaneers Jan. 3 - 6:58 pm et

Josh Freeman completed 16-of-32 passes for 174 yards, one touchdown, and two interceptions against the Falcons in Week 17.
The Bucs had a chance to take the lead in the fourth quarter, but Freeman followed a Matt Ryan interception with his own pick. Though Freeman finished with just 10 touchdowns against 18 interceptions, the rookie was easily the team's most effective quarterback this season. He and Kellen Winslow form the offensive nucleus heading into 2010.
 Josh Freeman-QB - Buccaneers Dec. 27 - 4:48 pm et

Josh Freeman completed 21-of-31 passes for 271 yards, no touchdowns, and two interceptions in the Bucs' Week 16 win over New Orleans.
Freeman did consistently get his team in scoring position and continued to show elite talent, making crisp passes to all parts of the field. His ball security is still a problem, however, as Freeman also fumbled once and has now turned the ball over a whopping 17 times in his last six games. He'll benefit in 2010 from having a full offseason as the Bucs' starting QB in practice.
 Josh Freeman-QB - Buccaneers Dec. 20 - 8:12 pm et

Josh Freeman completed 16-of-26 passes for 205 yards, two touchdowns and one interception in Week 15 against the Seahawks.
Freeman was picked off on the Bucs' first possession when his throw over the middle sailed high and would have been intercepted on their second possession if not for Deon Grant dropping the ball. He recovered to go 11-of-14 for 144 yards in the second half as Tampa Bay won for the second time in his seven starts.
