Bears WLB Lance Briggs says he will not move to middle linebacker following Brian Urlacher's season-ending injury.
Briggs has never played inside in his six-year career. He's still a better bet for tackles with Urlacher gone because likely replacement Hunter Hillenmeyer is slower to the ball. Briggs should be a top-ten LB the rest of the way.

The Bears confirmed that WLB Lance Briggs' hand injury is not serious.
Briggs got his annual bizarre offseason event out of the way early, cutting himself with a straight-edged razor presumably over the weekend. He's resumed practicing and remains a safe bet to lead Chicago in tackles.

Lance Briggs was wearing a heavy wrap on his right hand Monday after cutting himself with a straight-edged razor.
Briggs is expected to appear at Bears voluntary workouts Tuesday where team doctors will examine the injury. It's not believed to be serious enough to hold him back this offseason.

Lance Briggs is attending the Bears' voluntary offseason program after skipping last year's and forfeiting a $250,000 workout bonus.
Briggs is coming off a terrific season in which he led Chicago with 110 stops, made three picks, and tied a career-high with 11 pass breakups. With Brian Urlacher appearing to be in decline, Briggs remains the team's best IDP bet.

Lance Briggs was the only Chicago Bear to make the Pro Bowl.
That means six-time Pro Bowlers Brian Urlacher and Olin Kreutz did not make the squad. We can't argue with any of the choices, although we thought Briggs might get left off as well. This is his fourth Pro Bowl.
