 Kevin Faulk-RB- PatriotsJan. 11 - 11:43 am et
Kevin Faulk said he wants to return to the Patriots for a 12th season.
Of course Faulk wants to, but it's not up to him. He's an unrestricted free agent and turns 34 in June. The Pats figure to be loyal to their long-time third-down back, but may look for more explosive options in April's NFL Draft.

 Kevin Faulk-RB - Patriots Jan. 10 - 4:26 pm et

Kevin Faulk ran for 52 yards on 14 carries and caught six balls for 37 yards in the Patriots' playoff loss to Baltimore.
Faulk's role expanded because the Pats had to go with a shotgun-heavy offense after falling behind 21-0 in the first frame. Faulk, whose contract is up, turns 34 in June. He is still an effective third-down back, though the club may explore more explosive alternatives via the draft and/or free agency.
 Laurence Maroney-RB - Patriots Jan. 7 - 8:49 pm et

Patriots running backs coach Ivan Fears emphasized Thursday that the Patriots trust Laurence Maroney with the ball in his hands.
The coaches are working to cure Maroney of his fumblitis. We had tentatively been expecting Sammy Morris and Fred Taylor to handle early down work, but the truth is nobody knows what to expect with this backfield until Sunday's game starts. It certainly seems like Maroney is out of the doghouse -- if he was ever there in the first place.

 Laurence Maroney-RB - Patriots Jan. 5 - 3:33 pm et

Former Patriots linebacker and current ESPN analyst Tedi Bruschi speculated Tuesday that Laurence Maroney will not re-emerge as the lead back in the playoffs.
"I think the Patriots are going to go with Sammy Morris and Fred Taylor," Bruschi said. Maroney was believed to be in the doghouse after losing his third goal-line fumble of the season in Week 16. He was deactivated in Week 17, though Bill Belichick has been tight-lipped about the situation. We expect Morris and Taylor to carry the load on early-downs with Kevin Faulk handling passing situations.

 Kevin Faulk-RB - Patriots Dec. 28 - 8:51 am et

Kevin Faulk suggested that the Patriots will not rest their non-injured players in the season finale at Houston next week.
"We haven’t played consistently enough to say that guys need to take a rest," said Faulk. The Pats have been unpredictable under Bill Belichick, but they've only chosen to rest one time. Unfortunately, it was in a similar situation, with only the third or fourth seed at stake. We'll monitor this situation during the week, though Faulk definitely has a point.

 Kevin Faulk-RB - Patriots Dec. 13 - 4:57 pm et

Kevin Faulk ran 10 times for 58 yards and a touchdown and caught three balls for 17 yards in Week 14.
Faulk scored from three yards out in the second quarter. He was untouched on the play, although Faulk was only in the game because the Pats were in a three-receiver set. Laurence Maroney usually gets goal-line work. Faulk helps the Pats more than fantasy owners and isn't an option for Week 15.
