 Zach Thomas-LB- ChiefsOct. 4 - 1:16 pm et
Free agent LB Zach Thomas has filed an injury grievance against the Chiefs, according to ESPN's Chris Mortensen.
Thomas was released while recovering from a concussion, which is against league rules. He may have a pretty good case because the Chiefs should've given him an injury settlement. Thomas has not caught on with a new team.

 Zach Thomas-LB - Chiefs Sep. 5 - 8:36 pm et

Chiefs released LB Zach Thomas.
There were rumors earlier this week that Thomas, 36, would be retiring. Thomas and agent Drew Rosenhaus are denying those reports and say the veteran will absolutely keep playing. He started 14 games for the Cowboys last season before signing with the Chiefs in April. The Eagles are in need of a middle linebacker.

The agent for Chiefs ILB Zach Thomas disputes an ESPN report that his client plans to retire.
"Zach Thomas is not retiring," agent Drew Rosenhaus tweeted after Adam Schefter's report. "He is progressing from his injury & he fully expects to have a great season with the Chiefs in 09." There are now rumors circulating that the Chiefs will waive Thomas injured, which would end his five-month tenure in Kansas City. Stay tuned. It appears the 36-year-old may not be done yet.

ESPN's Adam Schefter reports that Zach Thomas will retire from football.
Thomas signed a one-year contract in April to help new coordinator Clancy Pendergast install a 3-4 defense in Kansas City. But the 36-year-old inside linebacker couldn't shake an undisclosed injury in camp. A seven-time Pro Bowler and five-time All Pro, Thomas has a shot to get in the Hall of Fame eventually, although he probably won't be on the first or second ballot. He'll surely retire as a Dolphin, for whom Thomas played 12 of his 14 seasons.

Chiefs ILB Zach Thomas has missed 11 consecutive days of camp with an undisclosed injury.
Thomas missed Kansas City's exhibition opener and was replaced by Corey Mays next to Derrick Johnson. The 36-year-old is at practice, but on a stationary bike off to the side. The secretive Chiefs aren't giving details.

Zach Thomas' contract with the Chiefs is for one year and $2 million.
There's no word on the guarantee, but the Chiefs appear to be paying Thomas as a starter. He'll line up next to Derrick Johnson inside with Tamba Hali and Mike Vrabel outside. We're guessing that Kansas City won't be drafting a linebacker in the first round any longer.
