Tony Gonzalez caught five passes for 41 yards and a touchdown in the Falcons' Week 9 win over Washington.
Washington is one of the best teams at defending tight ends, so this was a solid effort considering circumstance. The Falcons drew up a pretty play to free Gonzalez up for his first-quarter score, getting him matched up with Skins DE/OLB Chris Wilson. Gonzo easily beat Wilson to the outside for the TD.

Gonzalez continues to be Matt Ryan's favorite target when he needs a big third-down conversion. He had some solid gains in the first half when Saints' linebackers were making some coverage mistakes. Gonzalez and the Falcons have a good matchup against the Redskins next week.

Matt Ryan didn't have enough time to really get going in this one. The Cowboys were able to stuff the run without using more than seven men, making for some big hits in the secondary. Expect Gonzalez to bounce back nicely against the Saints next week.

Gonzalez found an opening in the back of the end zone at the end of the first half for a 10-yard touchdown. He remains one of QB Matt Ryan's favorite end zone targets and should keep rolling next week against the Cowboys.
