Trent Green has announced his retirement from football.
Green, who turns 39 next month, was originally selected by the Chargers in the eighth round of the 1993 draft. Concussion-prone in the twilight of his career, Green made his mark with the Chiefs early this decade. Under Dick Vermeil, he was one of the top quarterbacks in the league, averaging 25 TDs and over 4,000 yards from 2002-2004. He finishes with 162 TDs and 28,475 yards in 120 career games. Green plans to pursue a career in broadcasting. |
