 David Thornton-LB- TitansDec. 21 - 4:34 pm et
Titans placed SLB David Thornton (pectorals/shoulder) on injured reserve, ending his season.
Rookie Gerald McRath will close out the year on the strong side, and probably make Thornton expendable in the offseason. Thornton, 31, is due a $4 million salary in 2010 and his shoulder problems have become chronic. He finishes his fourth year as a Titan with 58 tackles and one sack in 11 games.

 Keith Bulluck-LB - Titans Dec. 21 - 4:07 pm et

Titans coach Jeff Fisher announced Monday that OLBs Keith Bulluck (torn ACL) and David Thornton (shoulder) are done for the season.
The Titans are down to four healthy linebackers on their roster and will likely have to sign at least two more off the free agent wire. Losing Bulluck, a career Titan, is the most significant blow, and his torn ACL is career threatening. Still an impact weak-side defender, the 32-year-old was in a contract season. Tennessee's run defense is sure to be adversely impacted.

 David Thornton-LB - Titans Dec. 20 - 11:54 am et

Titans declared LB David Thornton, DE Jevon Kearse, WR Dominique Edison, RB Javon Ringer, CB Rod Hood, OL Troy Kropog, TE Craig Stevens and DE Eric Bakhtiari inactive for Week 15 against the Dolphins.
Thornton is out with a shoulder injury and will be replaced by rookie Gerald McRath. The Titans are hosting the Dolphins on Sunday afternoon.
 David Thornton-LB - Titans Dec. 17 - 5:32 pm et

Titans SLB David Thornton (shoulder) is in danger of being shut down for the season.
Thornton's shoulder injuries have become chronic, and rookie Gerald McRath has played well in his place. The 31-year-old Thornton is signed for $4 million next season, though he's unlikely to be brought back.

 David Thornton-LB - Titans Dec. 14 - 10:18 am et

Titans SLB David Thornton left Sunday's game with a shoulder injury and did not return.
There's no word on the severity. Rookie Gerald McRath, who has flashed promise this season, came on to replace him. Thornton's shoulder woes have become chronic. Look for McRath to make him expendable this offseason.

 Gerald McRath-LB - Titans Nov. 12 - 12:24 pm et

Titans beat writer Jim Wyatt says "it's just a matter of time" before rookie LB Gerald McRath becomes a full-time defensive fixture.
McRath was impressive filling in for David Thornton (hip) in Week 9. Thornton was limited in Wednesday's practice and is questionable for Sunday's game against the Bills.
