 Dre' Bly-DB- 49ersOct. 13 - 9:10 am et
49ers CB Dre' Bly apologized to coach Mike Singletary Monday, and then publicly for his showboating play that ended in a fumble last Sunday.
Bly was tackled from behind after an interception while doing a Deion Sanders impression. Bly was unapologetic immediately after the game, saying "Dre''s going to be Dre'". It doesn't look like Bly will be benched for his actions, but it was a move totally unexpected from an 11-year veteran.

 Dre' Bly-DB - 49ers Oct. 12 - 8:51 am et

49ers CB Dre' Bly didn't apologize for his showboating play that ended in a fumble Sunday.
Bly picked off a pass and then put his hand behind his head like Deion Sanders. The only problem was he got caught from behind by Roddy White and fumbled. "Like I say, I'm going to be me," Bly said. "That's who I've been my whole life, that's who I was in college. I have fun. Dre's going to be Dre'." Expect coach Mike Singletary to discipline Bly once he sees the tape.

 Shawntae Spencer-DB - 49ers Sep. 7 - 5:35 pm et

The 49ers have named Shawntae Spencer their starting right cornerback, over Dre' Bly and Tarell Brown.
Brown is the top talent here, but missed most of camp due to injury. The injury-prone Spencer has just one start since 2006. The Niners will likely end up rotating RCBs throughout the season, so don't count on much IDP value.

 Dre' Bly-DB - 49ers Aug. 28 - 10:17 am et

Dre' Bly is favored to win the 49ers' starting right cornerback job heading into the third preseason game.
It's a mild surprise because Tarell Brown was expected to win the job. But even at 32 years old, Bly has been able to hold off Brown and sixth-year man Shawntae Spencer. With a good performance Saturday in Dallas, Bly will likely be the Week 1 starter.

 Tarell Brown-DB - 49ers Aug. 27 - 10:26 am et

Coach Mike Singletary says that the 49ers' right corner spot is "still a competition" and that "no one's ahead."
Tarell Brown was out at the beginning of camp with a toe injury. but returned just over a week ago. Singletary includes Dre' Bly in the mix, but we still expect Brown to win out over the veteran who's obviously lost a step.

 Tarell Brown-DB - 49ers Jul. 22 - 12:40 pm et

The competition between Tarell Brown and Dre' Bly to be the 49ers' starting right cornerback is even entering training camp.
The Niners would be better off if Brown wins, but it's conceivable that coach Mike Singletary will lean towards the 32-year-old Bly's experience. The winner will be targeted heavily by opponents playing opposite LCB Nate Clements.
