 Philip Rivers-QB- ChargersJan. 17 - 8:11 pm et
Philip Rivers completed 27-of-40 passes for 298 yards, one touchdown, and two interceptions as the Chargers were upset by the Jets in Sunday's Divisional Round playoff game.
He also snuck in for a one-yard score to get the Bolts within three points late, but Rivers' two third-quarter picks were killers. The first cost San Diego 82 yards of field position when Steve Weatherford's punt was downed at the Chargers' four-yard line on the ensuing possession. Rivers' second pick gave the Jets the ball at the San Diego 16, and Mark Sanchez hit Dustin Keller for a two-yard TD two plays later. Rivers had just nine INTs all regular season.

 Philip Rivers-QB - Chargers Jan. 3 - 5:25 pm et

With Chargers having locked up the No. 2 seed in the AFC, Philip Rivers was pulled after one quarter in Week 17.
Rivers remained hot, completing 9-of-15 passes for one touchdown against the Redskins. A Top-3 candidate for league MVP, Rivers will finish with 28 touchdowns and a career-high 4,254 yards while completing 65.2 percent of his passes. He also led all passers in yards per attempt for the second straight season.
 Billy Volek-QB - Chargers Jan. 1 - 7:54 pm et

Chargers coach Norv Turner confirmed that Billy Volek will play extensively off the bench in Week 17.
Philip Rivers will start, but won't last long. "I want to see Billy get some good opportunities," Turner said. One of the game's better backups, Volek rang up an impressive 131.6 passer rating in the preseason. Volek's matchup against the Redskins will be easier than usual with safeties Reed Doughty and LaRon Landry out. Look for Volek to play three quarters, if not more.

 Peyton Manning-QB - Colts Dec. 29 - 7:13 pm et

Peyton Manning, the leading vote receiver, has been elected to his 10th AFC Pro Bowl.
The league's MVP candidate was a lock. Philip Rivers and Tom Brady will back him up, as expected. With 4,467 yards and 27 touchdowns, Matt Schaub was arguably a more deserving candidate than Brady. Ben Roethlisberger (4,108 yards, 66.6 completion percentage, and 8.6 yards per attempt) was also snubbed.
 Philip Rivers-QB - Chargers Dec. 25 - 10:29 pm et

Philip Rivers completed 21-of-27 passes for 264 yards with two touchdowns as the Chargers clinched the No. 2 seed in the AFC Friday night.
Rivers has now thrown for more than 4,000 yards in two consecutive seasons and is having an MVP-type year. It could have been even better tonight, but the Chargers sat Rivers down for the entire fourth quarter. With the Chargers locked into the No. 2 seed, it’s likely that backup Billy Volek will see significant action again against the Redskins next week.
 Philip Rivers-QB - Chargers Dec. 20 - 7:27 pm et

Philip Rivers completed 24-of-38 passes for 308 yards with three touchdowns and two interceptions in Sunday's last-second win over the Bengals.
Rivers got the ball with 54 seconds left on his own 20-yard line and the game tied. He promptly led the Chargers down the field for the game-winning field goal, solifying his reputation as a clutch quarterback. Rivers is averaging 317.5 passing yards and two touchdowns over his last four games. He'll look to stay hot against the Titans next week.
