In a CBS interview, Plaxico Burress vowed to play again and said he apologized to the Giants for tarnishing their franchise.
Burress said he is keeping in shape in prison by doing push-ups and sit-ups four times a week. He could be released as early as spring 2011 but will be 34 and two years removed from the league. It's hard to see him having an impact on the NFL again.

Plaxico Burress' application for a work furlough has been denied by the New York Department of Correctional Services.
Prosecutors argued against the release, saying it would be too soon for Burress to get any kind of break. Burress was sentenced to two years in Septemeber of 2009 and can reapply for work release in July.

Imprisoned WR Plaxico Burress has applied for a work furlough that would let him spend time at home with his wife and two kids.
Burress is just two months into his two-year sentence for gun possession and it's very unlikely the court will grant the furlough. But if it is granted, Burress could talk to NFL teams face to face about playing again. A decision on the application is expected sometime in January.

Plaxico Burress was sentenced to two years in prison Tuesday morning and began serving his sentence immediately.
Burress pled guilty to a weapons charge last month stemming from the self-shooting incident last November. He could be eligible to leave prison after 20 months with good behavior and says he wants to play football after he gets out. He'll be 34 when the 2011 season kicks off.

Former Giants receiver Plaxico Burress confirmed in an ESPN E:60 interview that he intends to return to football after his release from prison.
He'll be 34, but the NFL already announced that Plax's "suspension" will end once he's out of jail. He'll probably get a shot in someone's camp, but there's no telling how much speed he'll have left. Burress already wasn't a burner.

The NFL will not suspend Plaxico Burress beyond his two-year prison sentence.
Credit commissioner Goodell for not piling on when he saw that the punishment was already sufficiently stiff. Plax will be eligible to return to the league in 2011. Michael Vick, who at 29 is still in his quarterback prime, found a job within a month of being released from federal custody. In the late of summer of 2011 Plax will be 34 and sporting a history of behavioral problems.
