Plaxico Burress was sentenced to two years in prison Tuesday morning and began serving his sentence immediately.
Burress pled guilty to a weapons charge last month stemming from the self-shooting incident last November. He could be eligible to leave prison after 20 months with good behavior and says he wants to play football after he gets out. He'll be 34 when the 2011 season kicks off.

Former Giants receiver Plaxico Burress confirmed in an ESPN E:60 interview that he intends to return to football after his release from prison.
He'll be 34, but the NFL already announced that Plax's "suspension" will end once he's out of jail. He'll probably get a shot in someone's camp, but there's no telling how much speed he'll have left. Burress already wasn't a burner.

The NFL will not suspend Plaxico Burress beyond his two-year prison sentence.
Credit commissioner Goodell for not piling on when he saw that the punishment was already sufficiently stiff. Plax will be eligible to return to the league in 2011. Michael Vick, who at 29 is still in his quarterback prime, found a job within a month of being released from federal custody. In the late of summer of 2011 Plax will be 34 and sporting a history of behavioral problems.

Former Giants receiver Plaxico Burress pleaded guilty to felony weapons charges in a Manhattan court Thursday and received a two-year prison sentence.
This could easily end the 32-year-old's career. New York State still must approve Burress' plea deal. If it doesn't, Plax could stand trial for two counts of second-degree criminal weapons possession and one count of second-degree reckless endangerment, and face even more prison time. Feel free to cut ties in dynasty leagues. Plax has probably played his last NFL down.

Free agent Plaxico Burress will be in a Manhattan court Thursday to be arraigned on felony gun charges.
Burress faces a mandatory 3 1/2-year sentence if convicted. He'll be read a criminal complaint today, then enter a plea of guilty, not guilty, or no contest. Most likely, Burress will attest his innocence. It just probably won't be enough. Plax should've taken the D.A.'s plea deal when it was still on the table.

ESPN's Chris Mortensen thinks free agent WR Plaxico Burress will be suspended by the NFL for one year.
Mortensen expects Roger Goodell to make a decision on Plax this week. Burress is facing felony weapons charges in New York arising from a November 2008 self-shooting incident. The next time we'll see Burress in the NFL will probably be for the 2010 season at the earliest.
