Matt Stover has expressed interest in kicking for the Cowboys next season.
Adam Vinatieri (knee) is expected to be healthy next season, leading the Colts to cut ties with Stover. The Cowboys need a reliable field goal kicker, and they have David Buehler around for kickoffs and long-distance attempts.

Matt Stover, who turns 42 on Wednesday, will become the oldest player to ever participate in the Super Bowl.
The Colts' decision to use Stover instead of the nicked up Adam Vinatieri in the playoffs has proven wise. Stover has made all five of his postseason field goal attempts.

Ravens coach John Harbaugh said he would consider bringing back K Matt Stover for the 2010 season.
Stover is currently kicking for the Colts, but they're expected to part ways with him when Adam Vinatieri returns to full health. Billy Cundiff remains a possibility as well, though he's been plagued by accuracy issues since entering the league in 2002.

Colts declared K Adam Vinatieri, WR Sam Giguere, TE Colin Cloherty, DT John Gill, OG Michael Toudouze, OG Mike Pollack, DE Ervin Baldwin, and DT Fili Moala inactive for the Divisional Round playoff game against the Ravens.
Matt Stover will handle field goal duties, as expected. With Giguere inactive, Chad Simpson will remain the kickoff returner.

Colts coach Jim Caldwell named Matt Stover his kicker for the postseason.
Adam Vinatieri will stay on the roster, but the Colts clearly aren't comfortable with his injured knee. Stover is now a prime option in playoff fantasy leagues with the Colts favored to play two games in the dome and one in good weather.

Colts coach Jim Caldwell is considering carrying both Adam Vinatieri and Matt Stover on the playoff roster.
Caldwell admitted that Vinatieri's knee is not quite 100 percent. Owners in fantasy playoff leagues need to look elsewhere because the Colts will likely wait until the last minute to make a decision on their kicker.
