Philip Rivers completed 21-of-27 passes for 264 yards with two touchdowns as the Chargers clinched the No. 2 seed in the AFC Friday night.
Rivers has now thrown for more than 4,000 yards in two consecutive seasons and is having an MVP-type year. It could have been even better tonight, but the Chargers sat Rivers down for the entire fourth quarter. With the Chargers locked into the No. 2 seed, it’s likely that backup Billy Volek will see significant action again against the Redskins next week.
