 Kerry Collins-QB- TitansFeb. 2 - 5:26 pm et
The Titans are expected to approach Kerry Collins about "potentially working out some arrangement for him to stay on."
Collins won't be back unless he agrees to take a pay-cut from his $5.5M salary. He likes the area, though, so he's expected to be amenable to a restructured deal. The Nashville City Paper expects the Titans to pursue Chad Pennington if Collins doesn't stay.

 Kerry Collins-QB - Titans Jan. 5 - 8:57 am et

Titans coach Jeff Fisher said in his season-ending press conference that he'd "like" for Kerry Collins to return in 2010.
This was the same presser at which Fisher named Vince Young the team's 2010 starter. Collins, 37, is due $5.5 million in salary next season, which is way too much for an ineffective backup. He seems doubtful to last past May.

 Kerry Collins-QB - Titans Jan. 4 - 2:55 pm et

Coach Jeff Fisher's Monday confirmation that Vince Young will be the Titans' starter in 2010 may ultimately cost Kerry Collins his roster spot.
Collins' horrendous play in Weeks 1-6 (5 TDs/10 turnovers, 5.5 YPA) would also be a significant factor, along with his age (37) and undeserved $5.5M salary. The Titans could pursue a free agent like Chad Pennington to back up V.Y. after releasing Collins. Pennington has history with OC Mike Heimerdinger.
 Vince Young-QB - Titans Jan. 3 - 7:29 pm et

Vince Young completed 17-of-28 passes for 171 yards, no touchdowns, and an interception in the Titans' Week 17 win over Seattle.
He only got -2 yards on two scrambles, but this day was all about Chris Johnson. The Titans called 39 runs compared to 28 passes in an effort to get C.J. over 2,000 yards rushing. V.Y. took over an 0-6 team and led them to an 8-8 finish, essentially guaranteeing that he will return as the Titans' starter in 2010. Kerry Collins is candidate for offseason release.
 Kerry Collins-QB - Titans Dec. 30 - 4:59 pm et

Kerry Collins is scheduled to receive a $5.5 million salary in 2010.
Collins wants to stay with the Titans, but that's quite a bit to be a backup. He at least acknowledges that Vince Young has done enough to be the starter entering 2010. "Do they want to pay me as much as they owe me to be a backup?" Collins said. "And that is only a question they can answer."

 Vince Young-QB - Titans Dec. 15 - 11:52 am et

Vince Young (hamstring) said he could have come back into last week's game if it had been a playoff-type situation.
Young seems optimistic, but we're still expecting him to miss practice time this week and be a game-time decision. The Titans are not going to force him into the game against the Dolphins if there is any risk of further injury. Coach Jeff Fisher did say that it's possible Young could start Sunday even if he doesn't practice this week.
