Jake Delhomme completed 19-of-42 passes for 227 yards, one touchdown, and one interception against the Dolphins in Week 11. He added two scrambles for 17 yards.
The coaching staff tried to coddle Delhomme's burgeoning confidence, calling more pass plays and ultimately damaging the team's chances of winning. Delhomme started a relatively strong 5-of-9 for 59 yards but fell apart thereafter while the playcallers continued to neglect a dominant rushing attack. Delhomme didn't completely melt down, however, so he's in no danger of losing his job going into next week's game against the Jets.

Jake Delhomme completed 15-of-24 passes for 195 yards and two touchdowns and added 11 yards on the ground against the Falcons in Week 10.
Operating out of the no-huddle for much of the day, Delhomme excelled in taking care of the ball, managing the offense, and even picking up a big first-down on the ground. He's now gone two games without an interception, which qualifies as significant progress. With left tackle Jordan Gross out for the season, Delhomme is unlikely to be even an attractive QB2 the rest of the way.

Updating a previous item, Panthers LT Jordan Gross was diagnosed with a broken right ankle and will likely miss the remainder of the season.
Guard Mackenzy Bernadeau came on in the second half, with LG Travelle Wharton kicking to Jake Delhomme's blind side. The 4-5 Panthers aren't out of the Wild Card picture, but the loss of their Pro Bowl left tackle is huge. Whlie Carolina's offense is built from the inside out, they lack quality depth at tackle. The Panthers' skill players should all be downgraded.

Jake Delhomme has just 17 completions for 20 yards or more this season.
That's an anemic number, especially with Steve Smith on the team. Delhomme is now strictly a game manager, and well aware that any turnovers could get him benched. Carolina's passing game isn't showing any signs of life.

Jake Delhomme completed 17-of-30 passes for 201 yards against the Saints in Week 9.
The majority of his attempts came late, with the Panthers in comeback mode. The offense leaned heavily on the run, and the coaches clearly don't trust Delhomme. He continued his disturbing trend of overthrowing his targets, and he was lucky not to get picked. Keep him on the bench against the Falcons next week.

Jake Delhomme (chest) is practicing without limitations this week.
Delhomme will start Sunday at New Orleans, but likely remains on a short leash and has a terrible on-paper matchup. He leads all quarterbacks in picks, and no team is intercepting more passes than the undefeated Saints.
