 Alex Brown-DL - Bears Sep. 23 - 3:03 pm et

Bears RE Alex Brown suffered an ankle sprain in Chicago's Week 2 win over the Steelers, but is expected to be fine for Week 3.
Brown missed Wednesday's practice, but only as a precaution. The weak-side end has nine tackles (seven solo) and two sacks through two games. He has another tasty matchup Sunday against an awfully beat-up Seattle line.

Football Outsiders noted that Bears RE Alex Brown racked up 11 hits and 11 hurries in addition to his six sacks last season.
Brown led the Bears in affecting the quarterback 28 times and finished 17th in the league in hits. Football Outsiders say that high hit numbers are an indicator of future sacks, so Brown could threaten double digits this year. Of course, that would be his first season of such production in his career.

 Alex Brown-DL - Bears Apr. 22 - 1:18 pm et

New Bears defensive line coach Rod Marinelli expects RE Alex Brown to take a "big step" under his tutelage.
Brown has always been a solid run defender, but his career high for sacks is seven. He had six in '08. Brown, 29, is basically entering a contract year and will be motivated to produce. His salary jumps from $745K to $5M in 2010.
