Kevin Walter will be an unrestricted free agent this offseason, no matter if the players and owners agree to a new CBA.
Walter has six years of NFL service, so he'll be free to sign with the highest bidder. The 28-year-old finished a disappointing 2009 with an 11.5 yards-per-catch average and two touchdowns, both lows since 2006. Considering Gary Kubiak's endorsement of Jacoby Jones as a possible future starter, Walter probably won't be re-signed. The Texans could transition tag him. With no CBA, each team has two transition tags and two franchise tags to use. |
