Northcutt was just a dump off for Matthew Stafford and racked up catches, but he's still waiver wire fodder. He had no catches in each of his previous two games.

The Lions used rookie Derrick Williams as their third receiver in Sunday's loss, with Dennis Northcutt moving down the depth chart.
Northcutt has been a drop machine, just like he was in Cleveland, so the change was deserved. Williams didn't see one target and was outproduced by No. 2 TE Casey FitzSimmons. None of the above are on the fantasy radar.

Dennis Northcutt caught five balls for 40 yards in Week 6.
Northcutt drew the start with Calvin Johnson (knee, thigh) inactive and led Detroit in receiving, but the team's passing game was completely ineffective. Johnson figures to return after the Lions' Week 7 bye, rendering Northcutt irrelevant in fantasy leagues. He will continue to return punts.

ESPN's Adam Schefter is skeptical about Calvin Johnson's (knee) availability for Week 6.
"The more I hear, the more I think Lions WR Calvin Johnson will not play Sunday at Green Bay due to his sprained knee," was Schefter's exact tweet. The Lions claim Johnson's injury isn't "significant", but with a bye coming in Week 7 it would make sense to hold him out. Even if Johnson can't play, Bryant Johnson and Dennis Northcutt wouldn't be strong fantasy options.

Dennis Northcutt caught five passes for 70 yards and one touchdown in Week 5 against the Steelers.
Northcutt caught four of his five passes in the second half, taking advantage of Calvin Johnson's injury to become Daunte Culpepper's go-to target. He had just 42 yards coming into the game.

Lions slot receiver Dennis Northcutt (thumb) practiced fully for the second straight day Tuesday.
Northcutt is optimistic he'll be ready for Week 1, but he's missed the majority of camp. He said he still has a little pain in his thumb and likely won't play in Thursday's preseason finale. Any Lions receiver not named Calvin is not draftable.
