Lions coach Jim Schwartz, Albert Haynesworth's long-time coordinator with the Titans, believes the potential nose tackle will have no problem switching to a 3-4 defense under Jim Haslett.
"You can play him at end, or you can play him nose. He can do whatever he wants," said Schwartz. "He's that talented of a player." Schwartz admitted that Haynesworth may have an adjustment period, but he insists the $100 million man is talented enough to adapt to whatever version of the 3-4 Haslett wants to run.

With the Redskins likely switching to a 3-4 defense under new defensive coordinator Jim Haslett, Albert Haynesworth will be asked to play a new position.
ESPN's Len Pasquarelli suggests that Haynesworth will balk at this notion, but the $100 million man may not have a choice. Although he's not a natural nose tackle, the Redskins don't have anyone on their roster that fits that bill right now. London Fletcher, who has excelled in the 4-3 for the last 12 seasons, probably won't be thrilled with learning a new position either.

Redskins named Jim Haslett defensive coordinator.
We've known about the hire for three days, but the move didn't become official until Friday. Haslett is expected to incorporate 3-4 alignments into a Skins defense that has been a 4-3 for as long as we can remember. Brian Orakpo and Andre Carter figure to be the outside linebackers. Albert Haynesworth could play five-technique end or nose tackle. We'll know the Redskins are serious about the 3-4 if they invest in players that fit the scheme this spring.

Albert Haynesworth denies that he told teammates to show up late for a Christmas day practice and sources tell the Washington Post that the $100 million man will start Sunday night.
Haynesworth doesn't seem like a bad guy, but he's clearly frustrated. He doesn't like the defensive scheme and was reportedly laughing with teammates when Jim Zorn went with the ridiculous fake field goal play twice last week. Regardless, his presence will hurt Marion Barber a little bit.

Albert Haynesworth encouraged his teammates to show up late to practice on Christmas day, sources tell Brad Biggs of the National Football Post.
As if the season needed to get any weirder in Washington. Haynesworth, who signed a seven-year, $100 million contract this offseason, wasn't happy that the Redskins scheduled an early practice on Christmas. He was sent home for being late that day and his status for Sunday night's game against the Cowboys is unknown.

Albert Haynesworth said that he couldn't "survive another season in this system if it stays the way it does."
"They (the coaches) are all against me," Haynesworth added after he placed the blame solely on DC Greg Blache. "We need somebody to lead us in the right direction." With Jim Zorn on life support in D.C., Haynesworth will likely get his wish in less than a month.
