Patriots NT Vince Wilfork played more than 80 percent of the snaps in Week 9 for the first time since Week 1.
The Patriots asked Wilfork to move to right defensive end for one game because of matchups and it worked. Wilfork's contract status as a pending free agent is well known and showing three-down versatility can only help his cause. He has 22 tackles and batted three passes down this season.

Updating a previous item, Patriots ILB Jerod Mayo (knee) is listed as doubtful for Week 4.
He did not practice on Friday and will again be replaced by Gary Guyton, who is a terrific IDP start against the run-minded Ravens. Patriots NT Vince Wilfork (ankle, questionable) had "limited" practice and is a game-day call.

Patriots ILB Jerod Mayo (knee) and NT Vince Wilfork (ankle) returned to the practice field Friday.
This is somewhat promising, but neither is very likely to play Sunday. Ideally, the Patriots will have both at 100 percent in Week 5 against the Broncos. They'll probably consider it a bonus if either faces Baltimore.

It's not looking good for his chances of playing Sunday against the Ravens. Upgrade Ray Rice and Willis McGahee if Wilfork can't go.

Wilfork will be questionable for Sunday's game against the Ravens, and it would be nice for Willis McGahee and Ray Rice if he can't go. Rookies Ron Brace and Myron Pryor are Wilfork's primary backups.

According to the Boston Herald, Patriots NT Vince Wilfork's left ankle sprain is not a long-term injury.
The Herald cites "a source with knowledge of the situation." Wilfork is questionable for Week 4 against Baltimore and will likely be listed as so on the injury report Friday. Second-round rookie Ron Brace is Wilfork's backup.
