Charlie Frye will start for the Raiders against the Ravens Sunday.
As expected, Frye gets the nod over J.P Losman and JaMarcus Russell. He threw for 333 yards last week, but was picked off three times and the Raiders didn't score any touchdowns. Frye is not a long-term solution for the Raiders.

Raiders coach Tom Cable announced Wednesday that Charlie Frye will be the team's starting quarterback in Week 16.
Cable said Bruce Gradkowski (torn MCLs) is improving "rapidly," but remains doubtful for this game. Frye will get the nod against his former team, the Browns. He'll be on a short leash, though, and isn't a two-QB league option.

Raiders coach Tom Cable described newly signed J.P. Losman as an "emergency" quarterback for the stretch run.
"(He's) a guy that’s got some experience in the league," Cable added. "He kind of fits for us to have an emergency guy in here. He’s familiar with a little bit of how we call things. So he’ll help in that area." Cable's comments don't seem to indicate that the Raiders plan to play Losman down the stretch.

Raiders signed QB J.P. Losman, formerly of the Bills.
Profootballtalk.com had the report first, and it's since been confirmed by the Oakland Tribune. The Colts were also interested in Losman, but the Raiders beat them to the punch. Losman's development under Jim Fassel with the UFL champion Las Vegas Locomotives reportedly ignited Oakland's interest. If Monday's comments are any indication, coach Tom Cable still prefers even a kneeless Bruce Gradkowski to JaMarcus Russell. It wouldn't be a surprise to see Losman in game action as soon as Week 16.

The Colts are reportedly interested in signing free agent QB J.P. Losman.
The UFL star likely would have been signed already, but the Colts are having roster issues on a short week. With Jim Sorgi out for the season, Losman would act as the Colts' No. 3 QB behind Curtis Painter.

Free agent J.P. Losman worked out for the Colts earlier this week.
Losman wasn't signed by is free to sign with any team now that the UFL season is through. The 28-year-old led the Las Vegas Locos to the UFL title late last month, winning it 20-17 over Brooks Bollinger's Florida Tuskers.
