Bob Sanders (injured reserve, biceps) says his rehab is on schedule, and he expects to participate in Colts' offseason workouts.
Beset by knee, shoulder, foot, and biceps injuries, Sanders has now missed more games (49) than he's played (47) since the Colts drafted him in 2004. Even before suffering the biceps injury, he was dealing with a nagging right knee. The Colts can no longer count on him as any more than a role player.

Colts president Bill Polian reiterated that "we see no reason" not to bring Bob Sanders back next season.
Polian has not wavered one bit on Sanders' status for 2010 ever since his strong safety went on injured reserve with a biceps injury before Week 9. If he's on the field and 100 percent, Sanders would almost be a bargain at his $2.3 million salary next season.

Colts president Bill Polian says he's received "glowing reports" about the recovery of Bob Sanders (injured reserve) from biceps and knee surgery.
"We fully expect that we're going to have a hale and hearty and healthy Bob Sanders back for next year," Polian said. "We'll welcome him back." At this point, it would be a surprise if Sanders is cut in the offseason despite his history of injuries. His 2010 salary of $2.3 million is manageable.

Colts president Bill Polian said "there's no way we would cut Bob Sanders unless he's completely incapable of playing and I don't think that that's the case."
Sanders contract isn't up until 2012 and his assortment of injuries have made him one of the most overpaid players in the league. Polian said he doesn't see "any chance" of a trade either. We'll see what happens in the offseason.

Colts president Bill Polian said that Bob Sanders (injured reserve, biceps) will be back next season as long as Sanders' recovery goes well.
Polian called all of Sanders' injuries bad luck and said the strong safety was playing at an elite level before going down. Still, considering how well the Colts' secondary has played without Sanders and his monster contract that runs through 2012, don't be surprised if they shop or eventually cut him.

Colts placed SS Bob Sanders on injured reserve with a torn left biceps, ending his season.
His season ends with three tackles and a pick in just two appearances. Beat reporter Philip B. Wilson speculates that the Colts will cut their losses with Sanders in the offseason to free up salary. 29 in February, Sanders is scheduled to make $2.275 million in 2010. The 2007 Defensive POY has played in just 27 of a possible 64 games over the last four seasons.
