Eagles defensive coordinator Sean McDermott admitted that "we lost some production this year at the safety position" and added that "I would think that would need to improve next year."
Macho Harris, Sean Jones and Quintin Demps could not plug the gaping hole left by Brian Dawkins' departure. The Eagles were horrific at defending tight ends and none of the trio provided enough support in the run game. Both Harris and Jones are better served as nickel and dime players.

Coach Andy Reid confirmed that Sean Jones has overtaken rookie Macho Harris to be the Eagles' starting free safety.
Harris is battling an injury, but Jones would have started Sunday's game even if Harris was healthy. Jones finished the game with six tackles (five solo) to finish second on the team. He's an IDP to consider in deep leagues.

Eagles rookie FS Macho Harris (ankle) is a game-time decision for Sunday's game against the Giants.
If Harris can't go, it's not a huge blow to the Eagles. Sean Jones has been rotating in and should be able to step right in. Harris has 18 tackles but no interceptions or sacks this season.

With FS Macho Harris'(ankle) status in doubt for Sunday, veteran Sean Jones is expected to see an increased role against the Giants.
Jones was a game-day inactive early in the season, but he's slowly earning the coaching staff's trust. "We need a physical presence in there, and that's what Sean brings to the table," said coordinator Sean McDermott.

Rookie Macho Harris worked as the Eagles' first-team free safety at Monday's practice, ahead of Quintin Demps.
Harris, a fifth-round pick, is clearly ahead of Sean Jones and may be passing Demps, whose preseason left a lot to be desired. Demps has more speed, but Harris is the better tackler. It may be a rotation to open the year.

Quintin Mikell and Quintin Demps were the first-team safeties on the Eagles' first training camp depth chart.
Sean Jones is second string behind Mikell at strong safety, while Demps looks to have the free safety job on lock. Rashad Baker is the No. 2 free safety with Macho Harris behind him. We'd avoid this situation for IDP purposes.
