The Chargers have ruled out C Nick Hardwick (ankle) for Sunday's game against the Broncos.
Hardwick had a setback in his return from ankle surgery last Wednesday, and he hasn't practiced since. He's likely looking at a December return, as originally expected.

Chargers declared C Nick Hardwick, DB Dante Hughes, ILB Tim Dobbins, third QB Charlie Whitehurst, OG Tyronne Green, WR Craig Davis, DE Vaughn Martin and OLB Jyles Tucker inactive for Sunday's game against the Eagles.
Hardwick (ankle) is the most notable injury, as the Chargers' running game has missed him badly. Kevin Burnett is back, mediating the impact of Dobbins' injury.

Chargers C Nick Hardwick (ankle surgery) has been ruled out for this week's game against the Eagles.
We thought Hardwick was ahead of schedule when he returned to practice in late October, but he's suffered an apparent setback this week. He hopes to finally return to game action next week, though it's no sure thing.

Nick Hardwick (ankle surgery) won't play on Sunday at the New York Giants but may return for Week 10 at Philadelphia.
Hardwick is still well ahead of schedule after injuring his ankle in the season opener. He resumed practicing with the first-team offense earlier in the week and there was a chance he would play on Sunday, but coach Norv Turner isn't going to push him. Hardwick will certainly be a big upgrade to the Chargers' running game.

Chargers coach Norv Turner now acknowledges that C Nick Hardwick (ankle) is a "long shot" to return to game action against the Giants Sunday.
Hardwick remains well ahead of schedule, so the Chargers will hold off for one more week. A Pro Bowl caliber center, Hardwick's return should help open up holes for a rushing attack that has struggled all season.

Chargers C Nick Hardwick (ankle) has resumed practicing with the first-team offense and is expected to start Sunday.
The development is promising news for LaDainian Tomlinson, who is coming off his best fantasy game of the season. Without Hardwick, San Diego was struggling badly to open holes up the middle. The Chargers can now focus on fixing the oft-overpowered right side of their offensive line.
