Ware is a solid special teamer and serviceable backup at the safety spot, also offering experience as a nickel back. With Antrel Rolle moving on and FS Kerry Rhodes stepping in, Ware gives the Cardinals some continuity.

The Cardinals are set to re-sign free agent S Matt Ware.

After Ware drew interest from the Seahawks, the Cardinals will keep him as a key special teamer and backup to Adrian Wilson and Kerry Rhodes. The team's recent moves in the secondary are an indictment of last year's third-rounder Rashad Johnson, who isn't ready for a backup role.

The Seahawks are hosting free agent S Matt Ware on Monday.

Ware's UCLA Bruins squared off regularly with Seahawks head coach Pete Carroll's USC Trojans in the Pac Ten during the early 2000s. In Seattle, Ware could provide depth at safety, cover kicks, and play nickel back in a pinch.

Free agent S Matt Ware is reportedly scheduled to visit an unnamed NFC West team on Friday.

Ware is a special teamer first, but the Seahawks, 49ers, and Rams could all use safety help, so this isn't exactly narrowing it down. Ware also has experience as a nickel back. The UCLA alum turned 27 in December.

Ware is a valuable backup and special teamer, especially with Antrel Rolle's Arizona future in question.

Beat writer Kent Somers calls Matt Ware's season-ending knee injury in Week 14 the team's most costly injury of the season.

Somers may be exaggerating a little, but the loss of Ware in the dime did hurt. Adrian Wilson wasn't able to play his game and Ralph Brown was a downgrade from Ware.
