Dolphins ILB Channing Crowder (shoulder) returned to practice Wednesday.
Akin Ayodele had five tackles in Crowder's "MIKE" position last week, while Reggie Torbor had seven at "TED" linebacker. Crowder will likely start at New England, whith Torbor back on the bench and Ayodele sliding over a spot.

Dolphins ILB Channing Crowder (shoulder) will not play against the Jets Sunday.
Crowder was moved from "doubtful" to "out" on Saturday. Reggie Torbor will step in at one of the ILB spots, but the IDP pickup is Akin Ayodele. He'll start at Crowder's "Mike" ILB position and is a much better bet for tackles.

Dolphins ILB Channing Crowder (shoulder) is listed as doubtful for Week 8 after missing his third straight practice Friday.
Reggie Torbor will take over the "Ted" inside linebacker spot, with Akin Ayodele (Miami's third leading tackler) at Crowder's usual "Mike" position. Ayodele is the IDP to target if you're searching for alternatives.

Updating a previous item, the Miami Herald considers Dolphins ILB Channing Crowder (shoulder) "all but certain" to play in Week 8.
A South Florida Sun-Sentinel report from earlier Wednesday claimed that the injury was "serious," but the Herald's reporting is almost always more spot on. Don't get excited about backup Reggie Torbor in IDP leagues.

Dolphins ILB Channing Crowder is reportedly nursing a "serious" shoulder injury and is not expected to play in Week 8.
We'd call his absence an upgrade for Thomas Jones' matchup, but Reggie Torbor performed more than adequately in Crowder's place down the stretch of last week's game. Look for Torbor to make his first start of 2009 in Week 8.
