Texans signed DE Antonio Smith to a five-year, $35 million contract with $12.5 million in guarantees.
Smith can thank his playoff performance for his massive pay raise; there's some concern it was contract-year push. Before then, he was a try-hard guy who was solid against the run and not much of a pass rusher. He's serviceable for three downs, which is an upgrade, but more will be expected. This reminds us of Houston's deal with Anthony Weaver, which didn't work. The Texans still need more pass rushers. Source: Houston Chronicle
