Rams placed LG Jacob Bell on injured reserve with a torn hamstring, ending his season.
The undersized Bell looked like a $36 million free agent bust in his first campaign with the Rams, but improved somewhat in this year and will likely return next season, mostly because of St. Louis' lack of quality alternatives. The 29-year-old (in March) is due a $5 million base salary in 2010.

Rams LG Jacob Bell is likely done for the season with a torn hamstring.
"It will not require surgery, but we may have to make a decision there on how long that is going to be," said coach Steve Spagnuolo. Bell will probably go on injured reserve later this week. Mark Setterstrom is his backup.

Rams LG Jacob Bell (concussion) passed his neurological exam and is expected to be fine to practice during the Rams' bye.
Bell left the Week 8 win over the Lions and was originally diagnosed with a pinched nerve. His return will send Mark Setterstrom back to the bench.

Bell's status for Week 10 when the Rams come out of their bye is unknown. He was replaced by Mark Setterstrom.

Rams LG Jacob Bell has put on 15 pounds and checked in at just under 300 at last weekend's minicamp.
Bell was listed at 295 pounds last season, but he played at closer to 280. The extra weight should help him keep him from getting pushed around while run blocking this season. Bell was a huge free agent bust last year.
