Giants K Lawrence Tynes expressed relief that the Giants re-signed his holder, Jeff Feagles.

"It's my first time in seven years I'll have the same battery," Tynes said of Feagles and snapper Zak DeOssie. Tynes had an excellent season in 2009, connecting on 27-of-32 field goals. He'll be on the fantasy radar as mediocre kicking option heading into 2010.

Lawrence Tynes (hamstring) practiced on Thursday.

Coach Tom Coughlin said Tynes went through his normal routine. He'll continue to handle kicking duties against the Panthers this week.

Mike Nugent-K - Bengals

The Giants worked out four kickers Tuesday, including former Bucs K Mike Nugent.

The others were Steven Hauschka, Sam Swank, and Graham Gano. Lawrence Tynes is in no danger of being replaced, but the Giants are on the lookout for a kickoff specialist.

Lawrence Tynes injured his left knee on a botched field-goal attempt in Week 9, but says he is fine.

Tynes is taking a lot of heat for not kicking the ball after holder Jeff Feagles briefly bobbled the snap. Tynes took a hit to his leg in the pile up, but stayed in to convert two more attempts. He should be fine and keep his job when the Giants come out of their bye in Week 11.

According to Newsday's Tom Rock, the Giants are sticking with K Lawrence Tynes for now.

Rock reports that former Ravens kicker Matt Stover also tried out along with Matt Bryant on Tuesday. The Giants are hoping the dog-and-pony show will scare Tynes straight, but he'll be on a short leash going forward.

The player rep for free agent K Matt Bryant said he would not be signing with the Giants on Tuesday.

Lawrences Tynes job is safe -- for now. Bryant was not among those trying out for the Bucs, so he'll likely remain unemployed for another week.
