Impending free agent Willie Parker reiterated that he wants a chance to start next season.
"I'm a starter always looked at myself as starter, that's what I want to be," he said. Rashard Mendenhall is locked in as Pittsburgh's starter, so Parker is a near lock to be in another uniform next season. At 29 and no longer fast or elusive, we highly doubt Parker will get a chance to start in 2010.

Impending free agent Willie Parker sounded as if he had played his last game in Pittsburgh Sunday.
If so, his 74 yards on nine carries on the Steelers' final drive were a nice sendoff. "If that was my last game, I had six great years here," Parker said. "I'm a starter and I've always looked at myself as a starter." We wouldn't bank on Parker even getting an opportunity to compete for a starting job this offseason.

Willie Parker rushed 12 times for 91 yards in Sunday's win over the Dolphins.
We're not quite sure where that came from, but if the Steelers don't make the playoffs, Parker's time with the team could end with a bang. He even had an impressive touchdown run to the corner called back because of a holding call. This was the first time Parker had double-digit touches since losing his starting job following Week 3. He won't be fantasy factor next season no matter who he's playing for.

Willie Parker (shoulder) was a full participant in Thursday's practice.
The Pittsburgh Tribune reported that Parker was ruled out earlier in the week, though Mike Tomlin never addressed the subject. It appears that he's ready for backup duties again this week.

The Pittsburgh Tribune says that Willie Parker (shoulder) has been ruled out for Sunday's game, but Mike Tomlin never said that at his Tuesday press conference.
The Post-Gazette said Parker has a chance to play, so we don't think the artist formerly known as FWP is out just yet. He will sit out practice Wednesday and hasn't received more than seven carries since Week 3, so his presence won't have a major impact on Rashard Mendenhall either way.
