Saints LCB Jabari Greer (sports hernia surgery) returned to the field in Week 17.
New Orleans rested most of its starters, but Greer needed to shake off rust after missing the last six weeks. The Saints' top cover corner played in only nickel sets Sunday. He'll be an every-down player in the playoffs.

Saints RCB Tracy Porter (knee) returned to the lineup in Week 15.
Nickel back Randall Gay also returned from a hamstring injury, although he was concussed against the Cowboys. Porter had six tackles and broke up two passes. Saints LCB Jabari Greer (groin), who's been out since early November, expressed optimism on Monday that he'll be able to return soon.

Jabari Greer had sports hernia surgery on Wednesday and the Saints are hoping to get him back for the playoffs.
Greer, the Saints' No. 1 corner, hasn't played since Week 9. The team has been ravaged by injuries in the secondary and are currently starting rookie Malcolm Jenkins and recently signed free agent Mike McKenzie. The Saints' Super Bowl chances would get a big boost of Greer can get healthy.

Saints GM Mickey Loomis revealed Wednesday that CB Jabari Greer is expected to miss "a couple more weeks."
Greer likely had a setback, because he was practicing on a limited basis for the last two weeks and was not on the practice field Wednesday. In the meantime, Malcolm Jenkins and Mike McKenzie are starting on the corners.

The Saints have downgraded CBs Jabari Greer (groin) and Randall Gay (hamstring), LB Scott Fujita (knee), LB Marvin Mitchell (hamstring) to out for Week 13 against the Redskins.
They didn't catch the flight to D.C. Fujita is the biggest surprise, as he was listed as probable on Friday's injury report. His absence slightly upgrades Rock Cartwright's fantasy matchup, although we'd still explore other options.

 Reggie Bush-RB - Saints Nov. 23 - 12:55 pm et  

ESPN's Adam Schefter reports that the Saints fully expect Reggie Bush (knee), Jabari Greer (groin), and Sedrick Ellis (knee) back for Week 12.
It appears that all three were held out of a winnable Week 11 game against the Bucs with an eye towards New England in Week 12. Getting Ellis back will be a major boost to the Saints' run defense. Greer has been the Saints' top cover corner, and will see a good deal of Randy Moss this week. Bush's return will help most on punt returns. He's only a bit player on offense.
