According to the Boston Herald, the Patriots are "kicking around" the idea of bringing in veteran LB Derrick Brooks.
The Patriots have a need with star ILB Jerod Mayo (knee) out indefinitely. Brooks, 36, was rumored to be headed to the Bears to help replace Brian Urlacher, but Chicago chose to hold off. If they do sign Brooks, we highly doubt he would be a full-time player. He'd likely rotate outside with Pierre Woods and Eric Alexander. Source: Boston Herald
