The Packers have denied the Bears permission to interview QBs coach Tom Clements for Chicago's offensive coordinator vacancy.
Not a surprise between division rivals. The Bears are suddenly running low on OC candidates, having lost out on Charlie Weis, Jeremy Bates, and now Clements. Clements' return to Green Bay is good news for Aaron Rodgers.

Aaron Rodgers completed 28-of-42 passes for 422 yards, four touchdowns, and an interception in the Packers' playoff loss to Arizona.
He also scrambled for 13 yards and a touchdown. Rodgers was magnificent in all four quarters, threading the needle and staying highly aggressive. In overtime, however, he missed a wide-open Greg Jennings for a would-be game-winning touchdown bomb and was strip sacked by Cardinals nickel CB Michael Adams on the game's final play. Cards LB Karlos Dansby recovered the loose ball and returned it 17 yards for the TD. Rodgers finished 2009 as the No. 1 overall fantasy QB. The Packers may need to improve his line for it to stay that way in 2010.

After giving up 37 sacks in the first eight games of the season, the Packers have allowed just 14 in the final eight games.
A lot of credit goes to RT Mark Tauscher, who joined the team in late October to replace the struggling trio of Allen Barbre, Breno Giacomini and T.J. Lang. Just as importantly, Aaron Rodgers took to his coaching and film study, learning to get rid of the ball more quickly.

Aaron Rodgers was pulled from Sunday's game late in the third quarter, finishing 25 yards shy of breaking Lynn Dickey's franchise record for passing yards in a season.
Rodgers completed 21-of-26 passes for 235 yards and two total touchdowns, dismantling the Cardinals defense. The league's top fantasy quarterback finished with the most most rushing yards, rushing TDs, and fewest interceptions while throwing for 4,434 yards and 30 touchdowns. In an offense loaded with weapons, Rodgers will push Drew Brees as the first quarterback off the board next season.

Aaron Rodgers is active and will start against the Cardinals in Week 17.
With nothing to play for, Rodgers will likely be pulled in favor of Matt Flynn early in the game. Packers inactives: NT Ryan Pickett, WR Patrick Williams, S Derrick Martin, FB Korey Hall, CB Trevor Ford, LB Brandon Chillar, T Breno Giacomini, and DE Michael Montgomery.

Packers coach Mike McCarthy said Wednesday that he plans to play his starters and attempt to win Sunday's game against Arizona.
Meanwhile, Cardinals coach Ken Whisenhunt said leaving his starters in will come down to a game-time decision. The Packers and Cardinals are probable to meet in the first round of the playoffs, so neither team is likely to use its front-line players for four quarters. If Kurt Warner is in the game, the Packers are going to dial up heavy pressure to knock him out.
