 J.J. Arrington-RB- BroncosMay. 28 - 8:38 am et
J.J. Arrington, released by the Broncos on Wednesday, is scheduled to undergo microfracture surgery on his balky right knee.
This will likely knock Arrington out for the season. The scope he had to repair a torn meniscus this winter obviously didn't do the trick. He'll try to catch on in 2010 as a 27-year-old scatback coming off two knee operations.

 J.J. Arrington-RB - Broncos May. 27 - 7:52 pm et

Broncos released/failed physical RB J.J. Arrington.
Peter King reports Denver only paid him $100,000, and released him now to avoid a roster bonus. Denver signed Arrington in March hoping he'd be Josh McDaniels' next Kevin Faulk, but Knowshon Moreno will now play passing downs. The move should ensure Correll Buckhalter and LaMont Jordan's spots on the team. Arrington may not resurface until 2010 because of his knee problems.

 Knowshon Moreno-RB - Broncos May. 24 - 10:09 am et

Rookie Knowshon Moreno will be the primary back in Denver by Week 1, according to the National Football Post's Michael Lombardi.
The Broncos didn't use the No. 12 overall pick on Moreno to have him sitting behind aging role players like Correll Buckhalter and LaMont Jordan. Moreno will be a focal point of the new offense. Lombardi expects J.J. Arrington to be released if he doesn't get healthy soon.

 J.J. Arrington-RB - Broncos Apr. 18 - 11:04 am et

J.J. Arrington (knee), Selvin Young (neck), and Ryan Torain (torn ACL) were unable to participate in Denver's minicamp practice Friday.
Young and Torain are fighting an uphill battle to relevance as Shanahan holdovers, and their injuries won't help. Arrington is recovering from a torn meniscus.

Broncos coach Josh McDaniels envisions employing J.J. Arrington like he did Kevin Faulk in New England.
"Arrington was the only back who played in the fourth quarter for (Arizona) in the Super Bowl," the coach said. "That tells you all you need to know." Arrington has to make the team, but he could lead Denver RBs in catches.

 LaMont Jordan-RB - Broncos Mar. 25 - 9:18 am et

Coach Josh McDaniels said Tuesday that the role of the traditional Broncos zone-blocking scheme will be diminished in 2009.
"We did more gap schemes in New England, where we're going to pull a guard," said McDaniels. "I can't give that up. That's kind of my baby. But you're going to see both." LaMont Jordan has played in both systems, but there's no clear-cut fantasy asset regardless of scheme.
