Panthers will place WLB Thomas Davis on injured reserve with a torn right ACL, ending his season.
It's a major blow to an already undermanned run defense. Davis was playing as fast and aggressively as he has in his career, leading the team in tackles with 8.7 per game and making big plays in coverage (5 PBUs, 2 INTs). Davis will be recovering from a knee reconstruction when he enters free agency in March, pending a CBA agreement. He'll be an RFA if no deal is struck. Source: Darin Gantt on Twitter
