Coach Ken Whisenhunt says he hopes Matt Leinart's psyche isn't damaged after he was pulled in Week 9 for throwing an interception during mop-up duty.
Leinart threw a ball high and wide that was easily picked off, and Kurt Warner had to reenter with Chicago making a late run. Leinart says he's fine and it only looked bad because he didn't have a chance to redeem himself. He'll still be a solid fantasy option if anything happens to Warner down the stretch.

 Matt Leinart-QB - Cardinals Sep. 20 - 5:21 pm et

Matt Leinart completed 3-of-6 passes for 22 yards in mop-up duty against the Jaguars Sunday.
Leinart only played because the game was out of hand. We still like Leinart as a potential late-season sleeper behind a 38-year-old starter coming off hip surgery, but he didn't show much in a quarter of play Sunday.
 Matt Leinart-QB - Cardinals Sep. 2 - 2:25 pm et

Matt Leinart has been limited in practice this week by a sore left (throwing) shoulder.
The injury isn't considered serious, and Leinart has done some light throwing in practice. Coach Ken Whisenhunt even went so far as to say it could be good for Leinart's development to learn to play through the injury. He'll enter the season as the high-upside backup to Kurt Warner.

 Matt Leinart-QB - Cardinals Aug. 29 - 1:28 am et

Matt Leinart completed 24-of-38 passes for 360 yards, three touchdowns, and one interception against the Packers Friday night.
Preseason caveats apply, but Leinart posted the eye-popping numbers in just one half of football. He came within a missed two-point conversion of bringing the team back from a 38-10 halftime deficit. Outside of the interception, Leinart was nearly flawless. He was on the money as a passer and showed a much better pocket presence than we've previously seen. Perhaps this will be enough to "officially" bypass Brian St. Pierre.
 Matt Leinart-QB - Cardinals Aug. 25 - 1:06 pm et

Cardinals coach Ken Whisenhunt is still refusing to name his No. 2 quarterback, even though Matt Leinart has outplayed Brian St. Pierre by a significant margin.
Whisenhunt refused to answer with a smile on his face, letting everyone know that it's almost certainly Leinart's job. If anything happens to Kurt Warner, which it very well could, Leinart wouldn't be a bad waiver add.

 Matt Leinart-QB - Cardinals Aug. 23 - 12:57 am et

Matt Leinart completed 6-of-10 passes for 74 yards against the Chargers Saturday night.
Brian St. Pierre was the first quarterback off the bench, as planned, but Leinart outplayed him for the second straight week. Look for the Cardinals to put this charade to rest and name Leinart as the official No. 2 quarterback.
