Dolphins ILB Channing Crowder (foot) plans to be cleared for the team's offseason conditioning program in March.
Crowder explained that his injury wasn't as serious as the Lisfranc fractures to Ronnie Brown and Donald Thomas, which will take six months to rehab. Crowder expects to shed his crutches and begin running by the end of February.

The Dolphins' top two tacklers in 2009 were safeties Yeremiah Bell (114) and Gibril Wilson (93).
Especially in a 3-4, safeties should never pace the team in stops. The South Florida Sun-Sentinel blames NT Paul Soliai, who took over after Jason Ferguson's year-ending injury and "couldn't occupy two blockers" to let ILBs Channing Crowder and Akin Ayodele run free. The reality is Miami's inside 'backers weren't productive at any point in the season. It is a position of need.

Dolphins placed ILB Channing Crowder on injured reserve with a "right foot injury," ending his season.
The Fins are very much in the playoff hunt, so Crowder's injury was obviously quite serious. There had been speculation that he suffered a Lisfranc foot fracture, which would jeopardize Crowder's availability for 2010 training camp. Still only 26 years old, Crowder should be a Dolphin next season. He wraps up the year with a highly disappointing 51 tackles in 13 starts.

The Dolphins reportedly fear that ILB Channing Crowder's foot injury is of the Lisfranc variety, similar to Ronnie Brown's.
If so, Crowder would be doubtful to participate in 2010 training camp. He has reportedly been dealing with soreness in the foot for weeks, but a Lisfranc fracture would require surgery and the Fins to make upgrading at inside linebacker an offseason priority. Crowder is done for the season.

Dolphins ILB Channing Crowder will reportedly miss next week's game against the Steelers after suffering a foot injury Sunday.
The Dolphins run defense suffered when Reggie Torbor entered for Crowder Sunday, so Rashard Mendenhall should have an easier time in Week 17.

Dolphins ILB Channing Crowder left Sunday's game with an apparent right foot injury.
Crowder had his shoe off as he was limping toward the locker room. Reggie Torbor will likely fill in at Crowder's "MIKE" spot.
