 Daniel Loper-G- LionsNov. 21 - 11:00 am et
Daniel Loper will start at RG for the Lions on Sunday against the Browns.
Loper takes over for Stephen Peterman, who was placed on IR on Friday. Coming out of training camp, Loper had won the starting LG spot before losing it to Jon Jansen a few weeks ago. He is a starter once again with Dylan Gandy as the backup.
 Stephen Peterman-G - Lions Nov. 16 - 4:38 pm et

Lions RG Stephen Peterman suffered a potentially serious ankle injury in Sunday's loss to Minnesota.
There's been no discussion of Peterman going on I.R. yet, but coach Jim Schwartz wasn't optimistic about Peterman at his Monday press conference. The Lions will install Daniel Loper at right guard until Peterman gets back.

 Jon Jansen-T - Lions Oct. 31 - 10:55 am et

Jon Jansen will start at left guard for the Lions on Sunday against the Rams.
It will be the 125th start of Jansen's career, but it will be the first at guard. It's also a chance to see if Jansen, 33, has anything left in the tank after battling injuries over the past four seasons. Daniel Loper and Manny Ramirez had been manning the left guard spot previously.

 Daniel Loper-G - Lions Sep. 6 - 11:18 pm et

Daniel Loper has won the Lions' starting left guard job over Manuel Ramirez.
Ironically enough, both went to Texas Tech. Loper is the superior pass blocker, though, and Detroit needs all the athleticism it can get next to liability LT Jeff Backus. Ramirez made the team and will be a reserve.

 Daniel Loper-G - Lions May. 15 - 3:41 pm et

The Lions are giving Daniel Loper a chance to start at left guard this season.
He'll be an upgrade over Damion Cook, who was pushed into the lineup when Edwin Mulitalo cratered last season. Schwartz is also high on last year's first-rounder Gosder Cherilus, saying he will take advantage of the right tackle's run-blocking ability.

 Jeff Backus-T - Lions May. 11 - 9:51 am et

Jeff Backus is slated to start at left tackle after the Lions failed to draft a starting-caliber offensive lineman in April.
Backus is one of the weaker left tackles in the league, so free agent acquisition Daniel Loper may push him in training camp. For as much personnel turnover as the Lions have enjoyed this offseason, they've done next to nothing to address their weakness up front.
