Packers re-signed DE Michael Montgomery to a two-year contract.
Montgomery, a sixth-round pick in 2005, is still only 25 but has just five sacks in 48 career games. The Pack will likely have him add weight to play end in their new 3-4 defense. He'll back up Johnny Jolly and Cullen Jenkins.

The Packers have extended free agent DE Michael Montgomery a contract offer.
Montgomery, a Texas A&M alum, visited the Texans Monday and is weighing their proposal against Green Bay's. He'd fit better in Houston's 4-3 defense.

The Falcons canceled free agent DE Michael Montgomery's visit after re-signing Chauncey Davis.
The Packers don't want him back either, so Montgomery will look for a 4-3 team with a need at defensive end.

Free agent DE Michael Montgomery is scheduled to meet the Falcons on Tuesday.
The Packers have no interest in keeping Montgomery because he wouldn't fit at end or outside linebacker in their defense. He'd be a backup in Atlanta.

The Packers are not expected to re-sign free agent DLs Mike Montgomery and Colin Cole.
Neither are considered good fits for Dom Capers' 3-4 scheme. Montgomery is too small to play end at 273 pounds and Cole isn't considered stout enough for the 3-4 nose tackle job.
