Browns signed DL C.J. Mosley to a two-year contract worth roughly $5 million.
Mosley was a backup 3-4 defensive end for Eric Mangini in New York, and he figures to have the same role with the Browns. Mosley's signing could seal the fate of Shaun Smith, who has been mentioned as a possible cap casualty.

Jacksonville let him leave without a contract. Mosley played for new Browns coach Eric Mangini with the Jets. He'd likely be a backup in Cleveland.

Mosley (6'2/312) has been a backup 3-4 defensive end for the Jets since 2006. He would kick inside to defensive tackle in Jack Del Rio's 4-3 system.
