Browns placed DL C.J. Mosley on injured reserve with a broken ankle, ending his season.
He finishes with 18 tackles in 12 appearances. Mosley, 26, is signed through 2010 and will likely return as an oft-used reserve pending smooth recovery. He had taken over as a starter of late with Kenyon Coleman (knee) sidelined.

Browns DE C.J. Mosley was reportedly overheard telling teammates after Sunday's loss that he broke his ankle.
Mosley, who started in place of Kenyon Coleman, injured his right ankle against San Diego and was spotted on crutches in the locker room afterwards. The Browns' front seven, already lacking talent, has no prayer of defending the run after losing Coleman, Mosley, and Pro Bowl NT Shaun Rogers.

Browns signed DL C.J. Mosley to a two-year contract worth roughly $5 million.
Mosley was a backup 3-4 defensive end for Eric Mangini in New York, and he figures to have the same role with the Browns. Mosley's signing could seal the fate of Shaun Smith, who has been mentioned as a possible cap casualty.
