Rams agreed to terms with SS James Butler on a four-year, $14 million contract. Another $3 million is available through incentives.
Butler emerged as a starter for the Giants in 2007. The former undrafted free agent is an imposing specimen at 6'3/215, knows Steve Spagnuolo's system, and is a force against the run. He's not great in coverage, however, and that could be exposed because of St. Louis' pass rush. Butler, 26, is an upgrade over Corey Chavous, but that's not saying much. Source: ESPN.com
