Marcedes Lewis (cheek, head) has declared himself out for this week's game at Cleveland.
Lewis cracked bones under his right eye, and he says it will take 3 1/2 weeks for his face to heal. Lewis' receptions were down this season, but he did post a career-high in yards (518) while developing into a strong blocker on both the run and the pass.

Marcedes Lewis (cheek, head) missed Jaguars practice Wednesday.
The old "cheek" injury, of course. Lewis was concussed in the Jags' Week 16 loss to New England and probably will not play at Cleveland Sunday.

The Florida Times Union confirms that Marcedes Lewis suffered a concussion in Sunday's loss to New England.
Per the league policy, Lewis is probably going to miss Week 17. He'll finish the regular season with just 32 catches for 518 yards and two TDs. While Lewis' yards-per-catch average was up this year (16.2), he still hasn't become a consistent weapon. We're not betting it'll happen in 2010 either.

He's questionable to return against New England.

Marcedes Lewis caught four passes for 53 yards against the Colts in Week 15.
It's amazing that he hasn't made a bigger impact at this level. He certainly looks the part as a receiver, and he's developed into a rock-solid blocker as well. Lewis should have had another 19 yards, but he had a key late-game catch wiped away by an illegal formation penalty.

Marcedes Lewis caught two passes for 30 yards in Week 13.
Lewis' quiet season continues, although it's not because rookie Zach Miller is severely cutting into his snaps or targets. Miller didn't catch a pass Sunday. Lewis is not even a TE2 option heading to Week 15 against Indy.
