 Jeff King-TE- PanthersJan. 6 - 10:05 am et
The Charlotte Observer expects the Panthers to bring back impending free agent TE Jeff King.
King is probably the best all-around tight end out of the Panthers' three-headed "monster." Still, this is a dead position in fantasy. Dante Rosario led the group with 26 catches this season and despite some training camp buzz, Gary Barnidge caught just 12 balls in 16 games.

 Jeff King-TE - Panthers Dec. 27 - 4:05 pm et

Jeff King caught a 2-yard touchdown pass in Sunday's win over the Giants.
It's amazing how simply the Panthers line up. They almost never go with three receivers and usually have two tight ends and two backs. The only receiver or tight end on the roster that's a fantasy option is Steve Smith, who is now out with an arm injury.
 Jeff King-TE - Panthers Nov. 5 - 9:10 am et

Panthers TE Jeff King may be asked to play fullback this week with Brad Hoover (ankle) and Tony Fiammetta (concussion) likely out.
Coach John Fox said that he won't change his offense at all if Hoover and Fiammetta miss Sunday's game against the Saints. King is an excellent blocker and has just 13 catches on the year. The Panthers did work out free agent fullbacks Jerome Johnson and Jehuu Caulcrick, but neither earned a contract.

 Jeff King-TE - Panthers Sep. 15 - 1:06 pm et

Updating a previous item, Jeff King was the Panthers' first tight end to see the field in Week 1.
The Rock Hill Herald reported Monday that Gary Barnidge started, but that wasn't the case. King was the only Carolina tight end to catch a pass, gaining two yards on his lone reception. There won't be fantasy value here soon.
 Gary Barnidge-TE - Panthers Sep. 14 - 12:23 pm et

Gary Barnidge started at tight end for the Panthers Sunday, but Jeff King and Dante Rosario saw plenty of action.
On the third play of the game, the Panthers lined up in a two-tight end set with King and Rosario. Expect these type of rotations all season as none of the three are good enough to play on every down. Barnidge remains the best long-term option from a receiving standpoint.

 Gary Barnidge-TE - Panthers Aug. 10 - 9:50 am et

Panthers second-year TE Gary Barnidge was still running with the starters in Monday's practice.
When Barnidge first jumped in with the "ones," it was thought to be a rotation. Now it looks like the Panthers want to see if Barnidge can be the guy. Even if Barnidge becomes the every down tight end ahead of Jeff King, he won't have much value this year. But he's a name for dynasty-leaguers to keep an eye on.
