Owen Daniels (torn ACL) thinks his knee will be stronger by the time the 2010 season comes around.
Daniels should know because he is rehabbing the third ACL tear of his playing career. He was on pace for 80 catches and 10 touchdowns when he got hurt in Week 8, which is a realistic projection for next season as long as he is 100 percent at training camp. As for Daniels' contract, he said he "guesses" he's OK with another one-year restricted free agent tender.

Texans owner Bob McNair confirmed to the Houston Chronicle Sunday that Gary Kubiak will return as the team's head coach in 2010.
Getting that first winning season helped. Kubiak is 31-33 in four years as the Texans' head coach, but the franchise had never finished better than 8-8. Kubiak's return bodes well for the future fantasy outlooks of Matt Schaub, Andre Johnson, and Owen Daniels. Houston has finished the regular season with a top-five overall offense for the second straight year.

The Houston Chronicle's Richard Justice expects the Texans to only offer Owen Daniels (injured reserve, torn ACL) a one-year contract in the offseason.
Daniels' injury, which will require reconstructive surgery, crushes his chances of getting a contract in line with the NFL's premier tight ends. It's possible that the Texans will use the franchise tag on Daniels in February, and make him prove his health all offseason before opening any long-term talks.

Owen Daniels has a torn ACL and is out for the season, according to the Houston Chronicle.
An MRI Monday confirmed Daniels' fears. It's a huge blow to the Texans and fantasy owners as Daniels was on pace for 80 catches, 1,038 yards and 10 touchdowns. The Texans are expected to start Joel Dreessen in Daniels' place, but rookie James Casey has the most fantasy upside. Daniels, who was working on a one-year contract, will now need to prove his health before next season.

Owen Daniels, whose knee injury will reportedly cost him the rest of the season, fears that he has a torn ACL.
Daniels has suffered two torn ACLs previously in his playing career. An MRI on Monday will confirm his specific injury or injuries, plural. Ideally, he suffered a clean tear of the ACL with no additional ligament damage.

ESPN's Adam Schefter reports that Owen Daniels' knee injury will cost him the rest of 2009.
Daniels went down on a first-quarter play in Sunday's win over the Bills. He appeared dejected on the sideline afterwards, so it's not surprising to find out that the injury was serious. Joel Dreessen and rookie James Casey will pick up snaps. Daniels was the No. 1 overall fantasy tight end heading into Week 8. Kevin Walter may be the biggest beneficiary of his loss.
