Redskins placed SS Reed Doughty on injured reserve with a high ankle sprain, ending his season.
Doughty was a big part of a Redskins defense that excelled for most of the year. He finishes up with 91 tackles, two sacks and one interception. The run-stopping safety is a restricted free agent this offseason.

Redskins SS Reed Doughty (ankle) has been ruled out for Sunday's game against the Chargers.
Profootballfocus.com's Pro Bowl nominee at strong safety suffered a high ankle sprain in Sunday's loss to the Cowboys. Though average in coverage, Doughty has excelled in run support all season.

Redskins S Reed Doughty suffered a high ankle sprain in Sunday night's loss to the Cowboys and is almost certainly out for Week 17.
The replays were pretty ugly and Doughty is lucky that it's only a sprain.

Reed Doughty left Sunday night's game with an apparent right ankle injury and will not return.
Doughty got sandwiched between a couple of Cowboys tacklers after grabbing his first career interception late in the second quarter. He had to be helped to the bench and was eventually taken to the locker room for X-rays.

Reed Doughty is now the Redskins starting strong safety full time with Chris Horton (toe) sidelined.
Horton is a strong candidate for injured reserve, so Doughty is getting a big chance. Kareem Moore is now the third safety for a team that has been absolutely ravaged by injuries. Doughty has appeared in all eight of the Skins' games this season, making 43 tackles and recording one sack.

Redskins S Chris Horton is out 4-6 weeks with ligament damage in his toe.
Horton could need surgery, which would put him out 4-6 months. He's surely a candidate for injured reserve. Expect the Redskins to sign a safety this week. Reed Doughty will take over as Washington's full-time strong safety.
