Saints T Zach Strief will start at LT over Jermon Bushrod on Sunday.
Both Strief and Bushrod will play extensively, though. Bushrod has done a more than admirable job filling in for Pro Bowl LT Jammal Brown (hip, sports hernia) this season, so the move is a bit of a surprise.

Zach Strief is expected to fill in at left tackle for Jermon Bushrod (ankle, knee) against the Jets this week.
The former seventh-round pick was retained as the third-string tackle after garnering no interest on the free agent market. With Rex Ryan sure to dial up the blitzes on Sunday, Drew Brees could face heavy pressure for the second straight week.

 Jermon Bushrod-T - Saints Sep. 28 - 10:31 am et

Saints LT Jermon Bushrod injured his ankle in Sunday's win over the Bills and was replaced by Zach Strief.
Bushrod hurt his right ankle in the second quarter, left the game briefly and then returned. But the man who protects Drew Brees' blind side eventually had to leave the game. Bushrod is already filling in for normal starter Jammal Brown (sports hernia).

 Jermon Bushrod-T - Saints Aug. 30 - 12:53 am et

Jermon Bushrod is expected to be the Saints' starting left tackle on opening day if Jammal Brown (sports hernia) isn't ready.
Brown is one of the game's most talented blind-side tackles, but Bushrod has held up very nicely in the preseason and is highly athletic, which is good for pass protection. He'll be getting the nod over Zach Strief.

 Jammal Brown-T - Saints Aug. 21 - 11:45 am et

If Saints LT Jammal Brown needs sports hernia surgery, he will miss five to six weeks, according to sources familiar with the medical procedure.
The Saints are obviously hoping Brown won't need the surgery, but considering they sent him to Philadelphia to get the injury looked at there has to be a serious level of concern. Third-teamer Jermon Bushrod is expected to start the Saints' next preseason game as backup Zach Strief is questionable with an injured left knee. Drew Brees, be careful.

 Zach Strief-T - Saints Apr. 14 - 8:06 pm et

Saints signed restricted free agent OT Zach Strief to a one-year, $1.545 million contract.
He's held up in spot starts each of the last three seasons, but it's telling that the 2006 seventh-round pick garnered no interest on the RFA market. Strief returns as a "swing tackle" behind Jammal Brown and Jon Stinchcomb.
