Dolphins placed RB/KR Patrick Cobbs on injured reserve with a torn ACL, ending his season.
Cobbs, 26, was already not the fastest kickoff returner, so any loss of speed would be detrimental to his future. He is under contract through 2010 for a reasonable $775K, however, so expect the Tony Sparano favorite to return.

Dolphins RB Patrick Cobbs is done for the year after tearing the ACL in his left knee during Monday night's game.
A personal favorite of head coach Tony Sparano, Cobbs had been signed through next season as a core special teamer and third running back. His loss could be a boon for Ted Ginn in return yardage leagues, as Ginn will likely take over as the primary option on kickoffs. Lex Hilliard will assume No. 3 back duties.

Patrick Cobbs left Monday night's game with a knee injury.
The No. 3 running back and kick returner was carted off in the fourth quarter. Ted Ginn Jr. replaced Cobbs on kick returns.
